Fully appreciate the historical surrounds of Cliff at Lyons.

Take a guided walk along the neighbouring Grand Canal with our walking guide from Celbridge Walking Tours. Pull on your walking shoes and meet in front of reception at 10am and you will walk in the footsteps of the eponymous Arthur Guinness, Ireland’s first great entrepreneur, and hear the story of the Battle of Glenn Máma, fought near Lyon’s hill in 999 AD.

Also included in your package is a tour of Castletown House in Celbridge. Built in 1722 Castletown House is a Georgian palace at the heart of Ireland’s Ancient East.

If your thirst for historical insight still hasn’t been quenched, pop to Straffan Antiques, specialising in 18th century ceramics, silverware and fine art. 

The Historic Houses package includes a two-night stay with full Irish breakfast each morning, a three-course dinner in the Mill restaurant on one evening, entrance tickets to Castletown House and a guided historic walk at 10am on one morning.
