The latest addition to The Well in the Garden — Village Thermal, the simple French term for thermal baths — continues the outdoor theme, with two Finnish barrel saunas and accompanying hot tubs nestled in the lush greenery close to the Garden Room, adding to the thermal oasis shaded by the tall trees of the Cliff at Lyons grounds.

Escape into nature with the perfect antidote to stress, heating your muscles deeply in the Finnish sauna and allowing your body to relax completely before soaking your cares away in the outdoor hot tubs, where the pleasures of the heat and water are magnified by the sounds of birdsong and rustling leaves.

The Japanese believe in the exceptional benefits of ‘forest bathing’, immersing yourself in a forest setting as a natural way to calm your senses in a busy world, and so bringing a sense of peace. The new Village Thermal at Cliff at Lyons with its heat and bathing options, accompanied by the gentlest whisper of leaves from the surrounding trees, is an exquisitely different approach to a new kind of forest bathing.

All hotel guests at Cliff at Lyons are offered a complimentary 45-minute session in Village Thermal, a uniquely refreshing and relaxing therapy in the pure country air under a green canopy of leaves above you.

Village Thermal open from Wednesday – Sunday from 10am to 6pm. On Mondays, we’re open until 12pm and closed on Tuesdays.
