Lily Pond Rooms
Lily Pond Rooms
As their name suggests, the ten Lily Pond Rooms (36sq m to 58sq m) face the property’s main water feature.
Five of these rooms are on ground level with floor-to-ceiling windows – with a quiet, serene feel interrupted only by the sound of the fountain in front.
There are four Lily Pond Rooms in Mayors – a pretty stone-cut, wisteria-clad house with an elaborate carved surround doorway centred on the pond’s fountain in front – and six Lily Pond Rooms spread out over two floors in the adjacent Stables buildings, where the windows all have internal wooden shutters.
Both buildings have public areas furnished with period and reproduction antiques, including gilded clocks, a large tapestry, mahogany carver chairs and impressive nineteenth-century portraits.
Beds are either doubles, twins, or kings with four-poster beds in rustic wood or chrome and bronze-effect leather. Some beds are backed with floor-to-ceiling velvet-studded walls.
